If you know me well you will know that I am not a very Christmassy person. This probably sounds weird given that I have done Blogmas two years in a row now. The reason for that is it helps to get me feeling a little more festive. I used to love Christmas when I was little but the older I have got the more that feeling has faded. This year I really want to try and enter into the Christmas spirit which is why I have put together a Christmas Bucket List.
Christmas Bucket List
Go Ice Skating
For a couple of years in a row I would go ice skating with friends. While I am useless at it (and being rubbish at something does make me cranky) I was hoping that it might become a bit of a Christmas tradition.
Watch Christmas Films
One tradition I do have each year is to watch The Holiday and Love Actually. It starts to feel more like Christmas once I’ve seen them. I think The Holiday has to be one of my favourite films.
Take Part In Christmas Jumper Day
Who doesn’t love a good Christmas jumper? Coming up during Blogmas I have a post with my pick of the best Christmas Jumpers on sale now. Christmas Jumper Day takes place on the 16th December in aid of Save The Children.
Buy The Perfect Snow Globe
I have wanted a snow globe for years but have struggled to find exactly what I want. I would like the snow globe to be wooden not plastic and have a pretty scene inside. Some snow globes also play music!
Read A Christmas Carol
I rarely have time to read so I thought it would be nice to make time this month. What better place to start than a absolute classic.
Make Mince Pies
I have never made mince pies, I’ve only ever bought them. To be honest I don’t think anyone in my family actually likes them, which is great as that means more for me!
Enjoy A Festive Hot Chocolate
I love the festive hot chocolates. My favourites are the orange hot chocolate and the black forest. I don’t think anyone is doing an orange hot chocolate which is really disappointing.
Buy New Christmas Pjs
I have a couple of onesies which have a Christmas theme. One is a traditional fairisle print and the other is a reindeer complete with ears and antlers. What I don’t have is a set of Christmas pjs.
Decorate a Gingerbread House
Something else I’ve never done is decorate a gingerbread house. I think it might be a step to far to make the gingerbread myself. I know that’s cheating a little bit but I just know it would be a disaster. Now I just need to find the perfect one.
I will be updating you throughout the month on my progress so make sure you keep checking the bucket list post to find out how I’m getting on.
Yes to watching Christmas films! I’m hoping we’ll get our tree this weekend, after which all I’ll want to do is to stay at home, drink hot chocolate, decorate the tree, and watch ALL the Christmas films on Netflix!
