The Skincare I’ve Been Trying Out This Month

This month I have been trying out a few new things, mainly skincare,  so I thought I would pop them all in a post and share them with you.

This Month’s Skincare

St Ives Invigorating Apricot Scrub

When I was a teenager I used this scrub all the time and I absolutely loved it. To be honest I don’t know why I stopped using it. Every day I use the Origins GinZing Refreshing Scrub Cleanser and I get on really well with it. I had noticed that my foundation was looking a bit cakey when I was putting it on and I thought a really good exfoliator might help. I spotted the St Ives scrub in Boots and I’m so glad I picked it up. It deeply exfoliated my face leaving it feeling smooth and super soft. My makeup goes on so much better and and my skin looks radiant.

Super Facialist Vitamin C+ Brighten Glow Boost Skin Serum

I had run out of my normal serum and thought I would try something new for a change. My sister mentioned that Super Facialist is supposed to be very good so I picked a couple of the products up. As you would expect this serum has an orange scent that makes it smell good enough to eat. I am always looking for anti-ageing products and this serum promises to give your skin a more youthful, healthy glow. It combines Vitamin C and Hyaluronic Acid which boosts collagen synthesis and enhances the appearance of your skin. I do feel like it has made a difference in making my skin smoother particularly around my eyes.

Super Facialist Rose Hydrate Radiance Day Cream

After using the serum I then put on this day cream which I picked up at the same time. It is ideal for those with dry, dull skin which is exactly how I would describe mine. It contains SPF 15 and is suitable for even the most sensitive skin. The cream has a lovely floral fragrance and is said to make a good primer which I would actually agree with. After putting the cream on I would leave it around 20 minutes to soak in while I was doing other things and then go back to put my makeup on. My foundation goes on smoothly and I feel like it stays looking fresh for longer.

Simple Kind To Skin Vital Vitamin Night Cream

I always use the Simple eye cream so thought I would give the night cream a go. It is another cream that is perfect for sensitive skin. I found it to be lovely and lightweight with no fragrance. This type of night cream is ideal for me as I hate strong perfume smells when I’m trying to sleep. I also can’t stand feeling like my skin is almost greasy through wearing a heavy product. This Simple night cream absorbs into your skin straight away making it feel well moisturised.

Beauty BVLD Glitter Lips Superior Lip Kit

Not quite skincare but it is something new that I’ve tried this month. I was sent the kit to try out and thought I would share my thoughts with you. I put it on leaning over the sink as I anticipated getting glitter everywhere, but that actually wasn’t necessary. To get the best results you need to keep your lips parted and only apply the gloss to one at a time. Once it goes from white to clear you then apply the glitter using the applicator pad. This was super easy to do and I loved the glittery effect. I thought it would gradually slide off and I would end up with glitter all over my face but it has some serious staying power. The Glitter Lips Lip Kit would be perfect for a festival or night out and there are so many colours to choose from!
