One Bag Three Ways With The Givenchy Antigona

If I am going to spend a lot of money on a handbag I want to know that I am going to be able to get the maximum wear out of it for the money I spent. I know some people like to buy bags as collectors items but I feel like that is such a waste, it’s as if the bag isn’t fulfilling it’s destiny. I’m thinking about starting a mini series called one bag three ways featuring a designer handbag used for work, weekend and evening/an event. The first bag to feature is the Givenchy Antigona from my piece on ‘why you should consider renting designer‘.

Givenchy Antigona

The Givenchy Antigona shown in these photos is the size small in black patent leather with silver tone hardware. It features two round top handles, a detachable shoulder strap, top zip fastening and an internal zipped pocket. The bag measures: width 30cm, height 24cm, handle 10cm, depth 17cm and strap 35cm. I actually rented it from Borrow from Bagsy (and I don’t want to give it back).

Workwear

The Antigona is the perfect choice for work because it’s smart with a structured style that fits a surprising amount in it. I paired it with a simple grey tee tucked into this amazing pair of floral trousers from Ted Baker. Low heeled black suede effect courts from New Look finish the outfit off.

Weekend

Weekends are for jeans and t-shirts and the Antigona definitely dresses up your look. I’ve gone for a laid back layered look that features a white ASOS tee, New Look denim shirt, ASOS black leather jacket, Topshop black jeans and the Office Lucky Charm boots.

Event

This was actually the outfit I was going to wear to an event which was unfortunately postponed. I love how the bag gives a bit of an edge to an otherwise pretty, feminine outfit. The dress was a bargain from Boohoo and it has such a flattering shape. Rather than go for a stilette I threw on these mules from Shein which are a great Chanel dupe.

The Antigona was such an easy bag to slot into my existing wardrobe which is exactly what you want. You don’t want to have to spend a fortune on a bag and then have to turn around and buy multiple outfits to go with it. The bag should easily fit in with your look.
