Can You Get Good Quality Skincare At Affordable Prices is a sponsored post in collaboration with Balance Active Formula. Review contains my honest opinion of the products.
I was very kindly sent the Balance Active Formula Dragon’s Blood Range to review and I was intrigued to give it a try. Now that I’m in my thirties (just) I am more mindful of my skincare routine and helping my skin look it’s best. I’m aware that my skin is more dehydrated than it was and this is even worse when I’m wearing makeup. Foundation and concealer tends to sit in any fine lines around my eyes. I have always been the kind of person that will spend more on something whether that is clothing or beauty products under the belief that ‘you get what you pay for’. Is it actually possible to get good quality skincare at more affordable prices?
The Brand
The brand is called Balance Active Formula and they are dedicated to providing the highest quality active ingredients at affordable prices. Their ranges are award winning and specifically target anti-ageing.
I was sent their Dragon’s Blood range to try out. This consists of the Lifting Serum, Lifting Cream and Eye Lift Balm. The products use clinically proven Dragon’s Blood Extract and 3% Liftonin-Xpress. These ingredients give you skin that looks instantly lifted and tightened.
The range is lightweight, non greasy, suitable for all skin types and free from parabens. I do think it is important to note that the products don’t contain any SPF so you’re still going to need to protect your skin.
In case you aren’t aware Dragon’s Blood is actually bright red resin from a tree. No dragons were harmed in the making of these products.
How I Got On
I have applied the products morning and evening for two weeks. All of the products have an amazing smell that you would normally associate with a more expensive price point. I’ve always thought the more affordable a product is the thinner the consistency would be, almost like it had been watered down. This really is not the case at all as each one feels lovely and creamy.
The Lifting Serum is applied first. It comes in a handy pipette bottle which makes putting it on nice and easy. The serum feels like it is absorbed into your skin straight away which is great as I hate feeling like I have to wait an age before applying my next product. Your skin feels tighter straight away but not uncomfortably so.
The Eye Lift Balm is up next. I religiously use eye cream morning and night and have done for quite a while now. I suffer with dry, dehydrated skin particularly around my eyes which highlights any fine lines. This cream also lifts and tightens and I feel like it smoothes out this problem area.
Finally I apply the Lifting Cream. This has a creamy consistency that tones and firms your skin. It left my skin feeling hydrated all day. When it comes to applying my makeup I felt like it went on more easily and didn’t crease as much as it normally does.
I have to be completely honest and say that I am a terrible snob when it comes to skincare. This is the most affordable range I have ever used. I was quite surprised with its quality and it delivers on every promise that it makes. If you are into good skincare with a lower price point then this range could be exactly what you’re looking for.
