This lovely warm weather is definitely making me feel ready for summer. It’s made me start thinking about those all important items you need to get you through the summer. I have put together five pieces I will be basing my wardrobe around.
Summer Must Haves
It goes without saying that sunglasses are a summer essential. While I own a couple of pairs I am quite bad at remembering them when I leave the house. I’m going to make a real effort to start wearing them this season. I wear contact lenses which provide some protection from the sun but they don’t protect the delicate skin around my eyes and now I’m cracking on, I don’t want wrinkles. I was very kindly gifted a pair of Hugo Boss sunglasses which I love. Most importantly they also accomodate my lash extensions which is something I tend to struggle with when trying to find sunglasses. They came from Discounted Sunglasses who have a wide range of brands and styles to choose from.
I bought this dress last year in the Warehouse sale but only wore it a couple of times. Normally I live in jeans and I think that this year is the year that summer dresses start taking over my wardrobe. I’m hoping to pick up a couple of shirt dresses (everyone knows I love a good shirt) as they will slot in with my everyday style.
If flip flops are not for you then flat sandals are the way forward. Personally I think that flip flops are for the beach and they have the power to ruin the overall look of your outfit. I also can’t stand the noise they make when you walk, it drives me mad. I find that sandals are slightly smarter and can finish off you look a bit better. Normally I am a great lover of heels but you don;t always want to be balancing in stilts when you’re all hot and bothered.
Basket bags are one of this seasons biggest trends and I’m still in love with this one from Joanie Clothing. I previously wrote a whole post on the basket bag trend which you can check out. They are perfect for taking on holiday and using as a beach bag or strolling around the market at the weekend.
This straw hat is also from Joanie Clothing and it reads ‘Catch Some Rays’ around the rim. I love hats but again I hardly every wear them. I’m definitely going to be throwing this one on if we keep having lovely weather. When I wear it I feel like I’m in a vintage black and white movie.
What clothing or accessories do you live in in summer?
I used to think no sunglasses suited me but I’m determined to change that, I’m planning to invest in a few new good pairs of sunnies this month hopefully!

I used to think that but there is a frame to suit everyone!
