A Fun Evening of Events With My Blogging Family

On Thursday evening I was lucky to be invited to two events in Cambridge. It seems like there is a lot going on at the moment with store events and launch parties (how glam does that sound). It’s been a while since I have been to an event. I think the last one was before Christmas so to say I had been looking forward to this would be an understatement.

Origins Hygge Event

I met Ally (The Middle Sister) and we made our way over to the Origins Rose Crescent store for some pampering treats. Hygge (pronounced Hue-gah) is the Danish art of happiness and relaxation. The whole atmosphere was relaxing as we sat around chatting with a glass of fizz. We were introduced to the team and told a little bit about the treatments available.

We were offered Indian head massages and hand and arm massages. I chose to go for a hand and arm massage which used their delicious smelling ginger products. We could also try out the Feel Good Hug which is a warm, comforting body wrap that helps you relax. I had literally run to meet Ally so didn’t think I could handle getting any warmer!

We had to leave the event a bit early to get to our second event of the night but we were very kindly given a tote bag, a full size Comfort Mood Hand Cream and a mini High Potency Night-A-Mins Mineral-enriched renewal cream.

John Lewis Spring Beauty Event

We were joined by the rest of the Camb Meet Up girls before heading inside to check out the makeup brands. I got the chance to catch up with Cara (Polly Pocket Beauty) who I hadn’t seen in *forever*, Sophie (Sophie Kate), Jennifer (Feioi Interiors) and meet Lucy (My Copper Haven).

While the event was purely beauty we are very kindly shown the latest fashion collection to hit John Lewis. The store have teamed up with denim specialists Calvin Rucker (Joie Rucker and Caroline Calvin) to create And/Or which is a 90 piece collection. The collection has a definite off duty LA vibe and I was really impressed with it. The jeans look great and I have my eye on a pair which I can’t wait to go back and try. I also love their simple grey t-shirt with AND on the front and OR on the back which Ally actually came away with.

Another brand that stood out for me was YSL beauty. I can’t believe I have never tried their products before. The Black Opium Floral Shock fragrance is amazing, I definitely need to pick up a bottle. I think it might even be my new signature scent. The brands range of lipsticks is also incredible and now I really *need* to try them out too!

I love that brands are really beginning to understand the value of bloggers, especially stores that are on our own doorstep. I had the best night I’ve had in ages, it was just so much fun. It was so lovely to see the Camb Meet Up girls and hopefully it won’t be too long before we get together again!
