Christmas Party Makeup

You may have seen when I did Blogtober that I wrote an autumn makeup post. Now that party season is in full swing I thought that I would show you the makeup look I have been rocking at pretty much every event I have been to, using my Zoeva Caramel Melange palette that appeared in my November favourites. This palette is my go to for my day makeup so I thought I would experiment a bit for evening wear. I love how this look is a little smoky but with a glittery finish.

I began with my foundation which is Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Ultra Definition Liquid Makeup in shade 0.1. I applied Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer in light warm under my eyes and over any blemishes. Normally I would actually do my eye makeup first and I would actually suggest this as I find I get quite a bit of fall down from these eye shadows.

Now for the Zoeva palette. I take the shade ‘wax paper’ and apply it all over my eyes up to my brow bone to create a neutral base. Next up is ‘start soft’ which I apply over my eye lid and then I blend finish sensual into the crease and around the outer corner of my eye. I make sure that I really blend each stage well to make sure that there aren’t any harsh lines. ‘Edible gem’ is up next and this also goes in the crease and in the outer half of my eye just to give a more smoky look. Finally I take a slightly damp brush and pat ‘liquid centre’ into the centre of my eye.

Underneath my bottom lashes I run a little ‘finish sensual’ with ‘edible gem’ on the outer half. I wear lash extensions (which desperately need doing so please ignore the state of them in my photos) so no need for mascara on my top lashes. I do like to put a little on my bottom lashes and am currently using Givenchy Noir Couture Volume Mascara in black taffeta.

Back to my base and a touch of Nars orgasm to my cheek bones and a dusting of bronzer on the high points of my face. I am loving using highlighter at the moment as I hate my makeup looking flat. My sister gave me the Collection Speedy highlighter in 01 pearl sheen. I apply it to the tops of my cheekbones, bridge of my nose, cupids bow, chin and brow bone. I have my eyebrows tinted but where they are a little patchy I fill them in with ABH Brow Wiz in caramel.

Because my eye makeup is quite dark I tend to wear a nude lip so I’ve lined my lips with Smashbox Always Sharp lip liner in rosebud and filled them in with MAC Cremesheen pure zen. If I want a more dramatic vampy look then I would go for YSL Rouge Pur Couture matte lipstick in 206 which is a deep burgundy.

Do you have a go to look for nights out?
