In case you aren’t aware My Little Box is a subscription box that you sign up to to receive a box of goodies each month. Each box has a theme and generally contains around four different products around that theme. I signed up to My Little Box in December last year and actually reviewed my first box. So, what do I think nearly one year later?
To be honest I have found the boxes to be a bit hit and miss but normally there are a couple of things I like in each box. Have I ever thought about unsubscribing? Yes I have a couple of months ago but fear of missing out is probably what’s stopped me. To be fair, if I were to get a couple of boxes in a row that I didn’t like it is actually pretty easy to unsubscribe.
Anyway, what did I think of this months box? I really liked it, the Brooklyn box is perfect for this time of year! If you don’t want to see what’s in it I suggest you stop reading now.
Enamel Mug and Stencil
I love the style of this cute little mug, it would be perfect for an espresso. I don’t drink coffee so I will be using it for hot chocolate. The stencil lets you upgrade your coffee so that it is Instagram worthy and rivals your favourite coffee shop drink. Just make sure you don’t put it in the microwave.
Pins
I am a huge fan of shirts so the rose gold and enamel geometric style pins will be perfect for adding a touch of interest to a plain collar. There is also a little pin in the shape of a donout which would look good on a denim jacket or a bag.
Nail Strengthener Treatment
I’m lucky as I have nails that are naturally strong and very rarely break. The strengthener should be applied twice a week to your nails if they are dry, weak or ridged to turn them into longer, stronger nails. What I really don’t like about this product is that it contains micro beads. They are tiny pieces of plastic that are added to many beauty products which can’t be filtered by our sewage systems (they are just too small) so end up in our oceans and the stomachs of marine life. Shame on My Little Box for using them.
By Terry Crayon Khol – Gold Ornament
I have been wanting to try By Terry products so I was pleased to see this eye pencil in the box. It has a lovely smooth consistency and is highly pigmented. I’m not sure that I would use it as an eye liner, probably more as a shadow or I would mix it with another shade for more of a smoky look.
Catwalk by TIGI Fashionista Violet Mask
I have saved my favourite product until last. I have been using violet shampoos for years now as I switch between bleaching my whole head and having highlights. I swear by it to get rid of any warm yellow tones and give me the cool white hair I crave. This weekly treatment gives hair shine while protecting it from any breakage.
Have you received your box yet? What do you think?
Loved reading this post! I’ve been thinking of subscribing to a box, but am always worried I’ll end up with a bunch of stuff I don’t want 🙂
