Why I Love Heels

To be completely honest I pretty much love all shoes (minus flip flops, wedges, crocs, etc) but heels are my absolute favourite.

Heels have the power to take a plain outfit like jeans and a t-shirt and elevate it so you look like you have made so much more effort. Your whole style just appears so much more put together.

I always feel more confident in heels. I walk taller, stride more purposefully. I feel like I can achieve anything I set my mind to. I also feel like I look better, like I become a better version of myself. There have actually been several studies that say wearing high heels boosts your self esteem.

I find heels surprisingly comfortable, although I don’t know if that’s because I haven’t fully felt my feet in years. Flat shoes actually cause me more problems. I do have a lovely pair of flats but it feels like the back is made of steel so I can’t make it more than 200 yards without requiring a whole box of plasters. I don’t seem to have this problem with heels though. If anyone knows why this is then please let me know.

Last year I decided to treat myself to something designer, something I hadn’t done since leaving full time employment. I didn’t feel like I could justify spending out on something since becoming self employed. I missed the indulgence of a luxury item so I thought why not just go for it. I decided shoes were the way to go as I think you get more use from accessories and I have a mini collection of handbags. After much deliberation I finally chose this beautiful pair of Jimmy Choos. They are the Addison Pointy Toe Pumps in nude mirror leather. They are so comfortable to wear and the colour means they match most outfits. I’m really glad I bought them!

Do you prefer heels or flats? I’d love to see your favourite pairs!
