Why I Hate Sale Shopping

This is probably the ultimate sin for a fashion blogger to admit but I hate sale shopping. While I’m being honest I’m not a fan of Primark or Lush either. Can I still call myself a blogger? Confessions over with let me explain my dislike of sales.

Rails.

The main thing I hate about the sales is that everything is squashed together on the rails like a giant jumble sale. When I go into a shop I want to have everything laid out so I can see exactly what’s there. I just don’t have the patience (and quite often the time) to sort through every single item.

Crowds.

People go crazy when the sales are on queuing up to buy things they don’t really need just because it has a tenner off. I hate crowds, I’m don’t want to have to battle my way through them just to fight over the last pair of boots in my size.

Changing rooms.

I know when you’re sales shopping or clothes shopping in general you’re supposed to wear comfortable clothes that are easy to get in and out of, but let’s be honest, who ever thinks to do this? Continuously changing clothes multiple times in every store is exhausting. I can never close the curtain fully so fellow shoppers are treated to the vision of me hopping about in my underwear trying to get my leg in my jeans. Don’t even get me started on the lighting. Sometimes it’s horrific and other times I buy something thinking it suits me only to get home and realise I actually look anaemic in it.

Price.

All I have to say when it comes to price is if its half off now I would be seriously cranky if I had paid full price. Why was it so expensive in the first place?

Online.

While I would much prefer to support independent businesses and city centre growth in person the only way I can slightly cope with sale shopping is by doing it online. I can shop with ease, in my jammies, eating cake. I know its annoying if you have to return something and sometimes things don’t quite look the same in person but for me the positives outweigh the negatives.

Now that I’ve finished complaining I would love to know if you have any top tips for sale shopping that might make the whole process more bearable. I would love to hear them!

I love shopping for items at sale/discounted prices, but I can’t stand the craze (which is why I avoid shopping events like Black Friday and Boxing Day.)

I don’t understand why people shop on Boxing Day, for me it’s about spending time with family not battling it out in the shops!
