I started blogging three years ago without much idea of what I was doing. I took about a year off in that time and spent the other two years tinkering with the blog and bumbling along. I was never 100% happy with the design as it wasn’t quite what I had in my mind but it did do the job.
I have always thought if you are going to do something then it should be the best you can make it. I guess in the past the blog was the best I could make it purely because I lacked any kind of knowledge when it came to layout an design. I also that if I’m not giving the blog my all then why am I even bothering.
Over the past few months I have been thinking about the direction I want to take the blog in. I have been so focused on keeping it strictly fashion, as that’s where my heart lies, that I am forcing myself to miss out on so many other opportunities. Having toyed with the idea of setting up an online magazine I realised that I should be making the most of what I already have. This means that I will be giving Life’s a Catwalk more of an editorial feel with images that I hope give more of a fashion magazine feel.
I would still call myself a fashion blogger but there will be little elements of lifestyle thrown in for good measure. I have a bit of a way to go to get things completely how I want them but I am so happy with how far the design has come along. I purchased a new template from Pipdig which I absolutely love. I can’t believe how easy it was to upload, even for someone with no computer skills what so ever! I would definitely recommend them if you are thinking of redesigning.
I would love to know your thoughts on the new design so feel free to tweet me or leave a comment!
Love it. I think it’s a great idea to add some lifestyle pieces into your blog, but then again as a lifestyle offer I would!
Well done hun. Looking forward to seeing more of what ya got!
