My Little Box | Magic Box Review

I had been thinking of trying My Little Box for a few months but never really got round to it. I guess I’ve always been unsure when it comes to subscription boxes in general because I have always thought why bother spending £15 a month on things I probably don’t need when I can spend it on something I actually want. But, with the arrival of Christmas I thought why not just go for it and I have to say I haven’t been disappointed. From what I have read online it seems that this months box has been a particularly good one.

The box is loosely Christmas themed with the actual theme being ‘magic’. I actually forgot that the box was on its way as it arrived earlier than I was expecting. I was impressed straight away with the design of the box and it smelled amazing.

The first thing you see when you open the box is some pretty artwork by Kanako which actually comes to life; amazing I know! MLB have designed a My Little Magic App for iOS and Android which makes the figures on the lid of the box and on the card dance and spin. I thought that this was such a lovely touch and it actually worked!

MLB have also developed a magazine to coincide with the theme of the box. It features an interview, how to use the Magic app, nail art, and more. Apparently this used to be a fold out and from reviews I have read, the magazine has been very well received.

Navy and gold runs through all of the pieces in the box and they are such perfect shades for Christmas. The first item I picked out of the box was a pair of navy mittens with gold flecks. They are fingerless which is great when you need to text, but they also have a flap over section to keep your fingers warm. I have tiny hands so the gloves are a little on the large side but not unwearable.

I quickly realised that the wonderful smell was coming from a tin of Kusmi Tea. My tin is Anastasia which is a Russian blend of China and Ceylon teas with scents of bergamot, lemon, lime, and orange blossom. I do love tea so I can’t wait to try it.

Next up is a beautiful makeup bag, again in navy and gold, with pretty illustrations to the front and gold spots on the back. The bag has some brilliant treats in it like a duo of polishes again in navy and gold glitter. I love having my nails painted and have already chosen these for my Christmas nails. The brushes are slightly flat and square, which makes painting nice and easy, and they go on really evenly.

Also in the bag is a travel sized tube of Rituals Cherry Blossom and Rice Milk body cream which also smells amazing. It has a rich, luxurious texture this is absorbed straight away; I hate how some creams make you feel really greasy for ages after. The third item in the bag is a NARS blusher in orgasm. It is a pretty shimmering peach and although I am not one for wearing much makeup I will be trying this. My sister is a Beauty Therapist and she owns this shade so I know it must be good!

Overall I have loved this box and while my intention was to just receive one and then cancel my suscription, I actually think I will wait and see what next months box brings. If you would like to subscribe then just follow the link for more info.
