Last night I met Alice (The Middle Sister) in Cambridge so we could check out the Trinity Street Christmas Fair. First we stopped off at Costa for a festive drink and a catch up as I hadn’t seen her since some of the #CambMeetUp bloggers got together to surprise Pippa last month.
Last week when I was in Bury St Edmunds to see the Coca Cola Lorry I tried a caramel fudge hot chocolate at Costa so this time I went for the black forest hot chocolate and it was even better! It reminded me of the retro dessert black forest gateau. If you don’t know what a black forest gateau is then shame on you!
We made our way over to Trinity Street and I have to say I love the lights the city have up, they just make the streets look even prettier. Outside Trinity College there was an amazing jazz band playing all sorts of songs from ‘Santa Baby’ to ‘Fly Me To The Moon’ and I would have happily stood and listened to them all night. We met Pippa (Clashing Time) here and had a lovely chat before seeing what was going on at the All Saints Art and Craft Market.
There was so much on offer from handmade jewellery, bags, paintings, and candles to roasted chestnuts and hot chocolate.
Possibly the highlight of my night (apart from the great company of course) was finding a giant Moomin in the window of Heffers. Alice even very kindly offered to find out how much he was, so if anyone is unsure what to get me for Christmas you now know where to go. I apologise for the quality of his portrait but it was taken on my phone.
I still have a couple of Christmas presents to buy and I still haven’t put my decorations up (shame on me). I am feeling slightly more festive now though so I intend to crack on tomorrow and get organised with it all. Wish me luck!
Yay! Crack on with Christmas decs! 🙂
