Suffolk Blogger Meet

Last Saturday I met Alice (The Middle Sister) and Pippa (Clashing Time) before heading to LP Bar in Bury St Edmunds for my second blogger meet. Before I start rambling on I would just like to thank Daisy for going to so much effort and putting on a great event.

LP is a restaurant/ bar/ club and Daisy had hired the top floor just for us so we could all chat and meet the brilliant brands that she had invited along. The first stand I made a beeline for was Ivy-Joan who you may have read about in my Velvet Fashion Show post. I can guarantee that you will fall in love with Ivy-Joan who have a unique range of fashion, homewares, and gifts. They specialise in the kind of pre-loved items which really make your house a home. I came away with a beautiful, soft Vero Moda scarf which looks great with my leather jacket, and I already know what my next purchase by will be: the Father Christmas Babushka Doll Set. After all, who doesn’t need stacking Santas?!

Next up was The Charity Candle Company who’s stand smelled absolutely amazing. They combine their delicious smelling candles with raising money for local charities and these currently include The Royal British Legion, Dogs Trust, EACH, and the Teenage Cancer Trust. From the sale of each candle they will donate £1 to the charity of your choice. The candles are available in Home Sweet Home, Cotton Fresh, Lemon & Lime, and my favourite Spiced Orange.

Working my way round the room I then came to Odylique where I had a lovely chat with Hayley about the brands organic products. All of the products are made in the company’s Suffolk workshop from natural ingredients. It is important to me that they don’t test on animals, instead using a panel of human volunteers! I have thoroughly tested the Timeless Rose Moisturiser that came in my goodie bag and I can honestly say that I love it. The cream is instantly absorbed straight into your skin, doesn’t leave behind any greasy residue and has a light, fresh fragrance.

The stationery lovers among us were in for a treat with Yoohoo Mail. Owned by Gemma, Daisy’s mum, Yoohoo Mail is a monthly stationery box packed full of goodies from greetings cards and to do lists to art prints and recipe cards, all delivered straight to your door. You can also purchase greetings cards and arts prints from the site. I have my eye on the Bloggers Gonna Blog A3 Art Print for my new office (so Abi if you read this…..hint, hint).

The final stand was Lipivir which is a new product that cares for your lips and reduces the frequency of cold sores. As they say, prevention is better than cure and all you need is a tiny drop massaged around your lips twice a day. You can even apply your normal makeup shortly after.

There were lots of other treats dotted around the room from Lifetonics drinks and boxes of Hotel Chocolat, to cookies, candles, and nuggat and marshmallow ghosts. I even picked up a cookie cutter in the shape of an owl!

Daisy had also done brilliantly with the raffle prizes. I never win anything so bought four strips of tickets. I was so surprised when my numbers kept getting called out. I won a pretty pair of silver earrings, a voucher for a personal planner, and some great colouring pencils and felt tips – a bloggers dream. The raffle was in aid of Women’s Aid and I would love to know how much it raised.

I feel I should also take a moment to acknowledge the unbelievable job Daisy did with the goodie bags. Now it goes without saying goodie bags are not the reason to attend an event but it is a nice touch. Daisy had obviously worked her socks off to make sure everyone received something which was lovely of her. I think she did an amazing job but I will let you decide for yourselves.
