Oxjam Cambridge Launch = Success!

Tuesday 1st October saw the launch of a month long charity drive in Cambridge at the aptly named Hidden Rooms (yep you guessed it, I couldn’t find it) all in aid of Oxfam, as part of the nationwide music festival, Oxjam.

I was unsure what to expect having never bee to the venue before, or heard the bans before but I was not disappointed with either. Showcasing their talent were Adam Double, Mark Ellis and Shooting Suns,  before the night finished off with local DJ, Gareth Andrews. I think my favourite of the night had to be Adam Double, great songs make for easy listening!

Models Amy, Steph, Latifah and Megan were on hand to greet guests and sell raffle tickets. I have to admit I got a little carried away with that, there were some amazing prizes on offer kindly donated by Arbonne for a home spa evening, Cambridge Pole Fitness, £50 voucher for Cambridge Brewhouse, two cinema tickets from the Arts Picturehouse…….the list went on! I was after the Cambridge Pole fitness prize for two people, and was gutted that I missed out.

The main Oxjam Cambridge Takeover Music Festival will be on Saturday 19th October. This one day will see six venues across the City play host to over 100 performers! If the launch was anything to go by you would be mad to miss this event. Tickets are £8 in advance from wegottickets or £10 on the door. For more info check out the Oxjam Cambridge website or visit their facebook page.

I am pleased to say that the launch was a sell out and the night raised £523 which is an amazing result! Well done to organisers Izzy and Susannah, you lovely ladies did a great job and should be proud of yourselves!

xx
