I first met Claire from Cat-a-Cake Creations at High Street Fashion Week. We had previously emailed and I had seen her collections on her website. I really fell in love with her playful style of laser cut jewellery and enquired to see if it would be possible for her to make me my very own Chihuahua style necklace. Of course Claire very kindly obliged and sent me a drawing of a potential design. It was as if she knew exactly what I wanted, and put it down on paper way better than I ever could! I didn’t have to wait long for the sketch to become reality and I was like a kid at Christmas when they arrived.
They arrived beautifully wrapped in tissue with a bow and cat sticker inside a pretty little bag complete with badge. So much care ad attention had gone into every detail. I had decided to go for two Chihuahua necklaces, one in gold mirror effect and the other is cherry wood. Claire had thought of everything and put one on a silver chain and the other gold so that they were interchangeable.
I first wore the gold Chihuahua to a wedding reception. My outfit had to be planned around the necklace and I eventually chose a strapless maxi dress from New Look with nude heels from Miss Selfridge.
The cherry wood Chihuahua I wore to a graduate fashion show and it completely looked the part! Here I have paired it with casual weekend clothes, I think this cut little necklace makes any outfit.
I don’t think I could bring myself to decide between them, I love them both. I don’t know if you have noticed but there is a tag attached to both the Chihuahua’s collars with “Gem” engraved. Now they really are personal to me!
I could not recommend Claire enough and challenge you to take a look at her website and not fall in love with her pieces.
