The event on April 19th at The Apex in Bury St Edmunds proved to once again be a hit as tickets for the charity fashion show were a sell out.
The annual fashion show, now in its third year, was in aid of St Nicholas Hospice. This year saw the introduction of special limited VIP tickets which included front row seats, pre-show beauty demonstrations with a variety of treats including hand massages from SK Clinic and Spa and vintage hairstyling by Hairaid Shelter. There was also the chance to win some brilliant beauty treatments on the night.
All tickets included a welcome drink on arrival before the top high street and independent retailers showcased their spring and summer collections on the catwalk. Young fashion got the show underway and then after the interval, where coffee and delicious muffins were supplied, came exclusive fashion.
Hairdressing and beauty therapy students from West Suffolk College did a fabulous job being in charge of hair and makeup as all of the models were beautifully presented.
The audience favourite had to be the male models from Gerald Boughton who were met with ecstatic applause from the female dominated crowd.
Also popular were retailers East who provided enthusiastic catwalk displays to the accompaniment of Bollywood themed music. Most unique show of the night would go to Nicola Sexton whose models wore skin tight suits which covered their faces so that the handbags, shoes and belts they wore were the focus of the catwalk.
Bury Bridal Rooms added even more glamour to the event in some stunning and intricately designed gowns.
The show finished with students, again from West Suffolk College, showcasing outfits that they had designed and made themselves.
On the evening there was also a raffle with some amazing prizes donated by Ickworth Hotel among many other local businesses. Goody bags were available for guests to take home with a variety of make up and beauty treats to be enjoyed.
I am pleased to announce that this year Fashion Fusion has raised a total of £5,803.64 which is £298.60 more than last year!
