A mixture of the ‘Fairy Tale Collection’ and some bespoke exclusive items were made and hand delivered personally to TLC, JLS, Emelie Sande, Rita Ora, Labrinth, Conor Maynard, Angel, Wiley and Trey Songz dressing rooms!
I interviewed Elisha Francis to find out what inspired her to set up that brand and how it felt to attend the MOBOs.
What inspired you to start up the brand?
When I started making jewellery creating my brand was not my initial idea, I just fell in love with making things that people wanted to wear and as the orders grew so did the idea that I could do this for a living and not just as
a hobby. The best job is when you love what you do 🙂
How would you describe your jewellery?
I would describe my jewellery as vintage inspired with a London edge.
Have you always been interested in jewellery design?
Jewellery design wasn’t something that I had thought about when I was at Art School, I initially wanted to be a textile designer as I loved embroidery and always had a trunk full of colourful gems and sequins. One day after a trip to John Lewis’s haberdashery department where I picked up the basic jewellery making findings I made my first pair earrings and the rest is history.
If you weren’t in designing accessories what career would you have chosen?
I think I would be a stylist or a graphic designer as this is something that I love doing, I love creating looks for fashion shows and photo shoots as well as 2-D design for various projects.
As a designer I’ve developed an eye for composition whether its on the body, or a page I get a thrill putting it all together.
How did it feel attending the MOBOs?
The MOBOs was AMAZING!!! I’ve grown up watching the show so it was a great opportunity to be apart of such a prestigious event.
Who were you looking forward to meeting the most?
The run up to the event was really nerve racking because I had so much work to do, I had to make all the jewellery and get it from London up to Liverpool in a short space of time, I didn’t even think about meeting the artist until I was there and it was real. Backstage Chillie and T-boz from TLC were so lovely and down to earth, so it was fantastic to meet them. I also bumped into Rickie and Melvin who were presenting the show and they are such cool guys and really loved the jewellery I gave them.
What was your inspiration for the Fairy Tale Collection?
I wanted to create a collection that women could wear everyday and it became a collection of pieces that were my best sellers. The skull bracelets are so simple but so cool and easy to wear, either alone of stacked up high so they became the ‘naughty but nice’ villains of the collection.
How did you get involved with HSFW?
I was contacted through twitter and thought that it was such a great platform to showcase my designs, and the HSFW team has been amazing, I am really looking forward to the event.
How is preparation going?
Prep is tough at the moment as I am in the final few months of my Jewellery Design degree course so there is a lot of demand on my time. But it all ties in really nicely and its great preparation for my final degree show.
What are you looking forward to most about attending?
I’m looking forward to seeing everything come together on the catwalk show, the line up is great so I’m really excited about meeting all the other brands and bloggers.
I shall be looking for a beautiful ring that I can wear again and again. As Elisha Francis London says, wear it with pride be your own star!
Thanks for your post made here. One thing I would really like to
say is the fact most professional areas consider the Bachelors Degree like thejust like the entry level requirement for an online
diploma. While Associate Qualifications are a great way to begin, completing your current Bachelors uncovers many entrance doors to various professions, there are numerous online Bachelor Diploma
Programs available coming from institutions like The
University of Phoenix, Intercontinental University
Online and Kaplan. Another thing is that many brick and mortar institutions
offer you Online variants of their qualifications
but generally for a considerably higher payment than the firms that specialize
in online education programs. http://psdarya.com/blog/1391/10/03/partner1/,http://www.cheaptiffanyukvipsale.co.uk
